In 1918, 23-year old Babe Ruth pitched the Red Sox to victory in the World Series.

One year later, Boston sold the Babe for $125,000 to the New York Yankees, a team that had never won a world championship.

Since that fateful day the Bambino was sent to New York, the Yankees have won the World Series 26 times. The Red Sox? They haven't won it since.
